Lots of exciting changes waiting to happen in the upcoming year... a new US president, possibly a new govt in India, renewed hopes for better job opportunities...An upheaval of the financial sector and its repercussions on the Wall Street and Main Street are yet to see the proverbial light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel.The financial crisis was a boiling pot of greed waiting to overpour since the time the housing loans became lotto giveaways. It so happened to show its ugly head in 2008.Terrorism revealed itself in Mumbai in a never before grueling socialistic way, killing all and sundry in its path - from prince to pauper. It is now more than ever that we hope to ring out the old and bring in the new...
Despite its shortcomings(definitely an undertone, and friends for the lack of creativity), 2008 had its moments. Only when the world has undergone such a massive upheaval (ala turning the contents of a cooking pot), can real change happen .This year, we have seen the 'real America' rise to the occassion to purge itself of the 'same old'.As has been oft repeated, a black man in the White house is the first real change the world could ask for. Change is the only constant, they say, and to change is not the easiest of things. As Venus and Moon unite to bid farewell to a limping2008, let us hope for a bright and promising 2009...Let us hope that this 'slumdog millionaire' proves to be worth his salt.
